Edinburgh Spa Norton House Hotel
Reclining in the treatment room at Norton House Hotel Spa, exotic scents of papaya and pineapple waft through the air as senior therapist Rose applies the soothing Papaya Enzyme Peel. It is part of one of the Edinburgh Spa’s advanced facials by luxury brand, Elemis. Called the Elemis Visible Brilliance Facial, it’s an anti-ageing facial and eye treatment, but it also helps to get skin glowing and radiant.
If you’re looking to spoil your skin then this is the treatment for you. Because the hour and ten minute treatment includes two masks, a variety of serums and eye treatments all in a bid to firm up skin and eradicate fine lines and wrinkles. And beyond ageing concerns, this luxury facial also aims to tackle stressed skin by rejuvenating and rehydrating. In fact, skin tests following this treatment show an increase up to 61 per cent in moisturisation levels and a 40 per cent improvement in elasticity.
And it certainly puts the treat in treatment. Because whilst it focuses on the face, hands, head, neck and feet also get pampered. It begins with what is called a welcome touch where feet are rubbed and cleansed. Then face is cleansed and toned the soothing Apricot toner helping sensitive skin. Breaking the lavender Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules senior therapist Rose stretches neck and shoulders, moving from side to side, and to release any tension. And face is treated to a variety of massage techniques including soothing circular movements.
Exfoliating skin is key to exposing radiant skin because it gets rid of dead skin which can leave skin looking dull. Elemis has a variety of different exfoliators to use depending on your skin type. And although your therapist will decide what suits your skin, the luxurious Papaya Enzyme Peel definitely deserves a mention for its smoothing properties. Plus it smells delicious.
The Visible Brilliance Serum follows, helping to brighten skin, leaving it looking luminous. And in these post summer days, that’s very important. Eyes are soothed with special moisturising patches, which minimise any bags and dark circles. And whilst a mask soaks into skin, scalp is massage. Once the mask is deftly removed, eye serum is applied and thee Exotic Cream Moisturising Mask is applied. Light, yet creamy it’s made with sea rocket and echinacea to help moisturise skin. Letting this soak in, arms and hands are massaged. And following the mask removal skin is once more toned before the final serum and moisturiser is applied. Afterwards skin is visibly brighter, and incredibly soft to touch.
There are eight luxurious treatment rooms at the Edinburgh Spa, one of which is a double so couples and friends can be pampered together. And alongside the treatment rooms, Norton House Hotel Spa also features an 18m heated swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room. And with plenty of day spa packages on offer, you can enjoy some serious pampering if the mood takes you.
The one hour ten minute long treatment is normally priced at £80. But visit the Norton House stand at Pout and find out how you can experience this amazing treatment for just £60.
